Miss Philippines Karla Henry just won another minor award at the ongoing Miss Earth 2008 competition. The award given to her was Miss Fontana, the name of the venue (Fontana Leisure Parks) in which the Miss Earth bikini competition held. Miss Mexico got the Miss Swimsuit award while Miss Guadeloupe also took a prize. The coronation night will be on November 9 at the Clark Expo in Pampanga and will be broadcast by ABS-CBN.

Zac Efron wants to visit Philippines

High School Musical star Zac Efron known for his character as Troy Bolton said in an interview from Philippine Daily Inquirer that he wants to visit the Philippines soon. This is an excerpt from the news:

LOS ANGELES, California—“I would love to go to the Philippines,” Zac Efron, star of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” and the on- and offscreen boyfriend of costar, Fil-Am Vanessa Hudgens, told us in a recent interview.

“It has always been one of my goals,” said the actor who plays Troy in the feature film installment of the hugely popular series. “My dad has been to the Philippines several times. He always comes back with stories of his adventures, so I’d like to experience that. We just haven’t been invited yet (laughing), but we’ll make it there soon enough, I’m sure.” Paging Walt Disney Motion Pictures Philippines, the distributor of “HSM3” in Manila.

Geoff and Tish: Still in Amazing Race Asia 3

Dating couple and Team Philippines' Geoff Rodrigues and Tisha Silang are still in the running to win the Amazing Race Asia season 3. They managed to be the first team to arrive at the last pit stop at the show's last episode (8) in which the Team of Henry and Bernie from Malaysia was eliminated from the race. Four teams remain in the competition that include one from each countries namely, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Hongkong.

Chris Brown is responsible for hits such as “Run It”, “Say Goodbye”, “Kiss Kiss”, “With You”, “Forever”, and “Superhuman”. Aside from Miss Earth that is currently going on, Miss International (the one won by Precious Lara Quigaman) is also in full operation for the competition that is happening in Japan and Macau, final night will be held in Macau on November 8, 2008 (a night before the finals of Miss Earth). The Philippines' representative is Miss Patricia Fernandez who was crowned last March, a graduate of Communication course from University of the Philippines and wants to follow the footsteps of previous four Filipina Miss International titleholders namely Gemma Cruz, Aurora Pijuan, Melanie Marquez and Precious Lara Quigaman.

The drama Kahit Isang Saglit (Even For Just One Moment) starring one of the Philippine's Finest Actor - Jericho Rosales & Malaysian Superstar - Carmen Soo. Directed by Gilbert Guevarra Perez & Jerry Lopez Sineneng, the show has captured thousands of viewers from Philippines down to Malaysia and Singapore. Thanks to ABS-CBN for giving a show that is I think one of the best I have seen after the teleserye LOBO. Last night I was able to get a glimpse on GMA's newest drama "La Lola" starring Rhian Ramos and my fave Iza Calzado, who will be see soon on her Hollywood movie "The Echo". Talk about Rhian, her character is tomboy - not that convincing aha but she still looking fabulous on her long, curly black hair. Though not a fan of GMA shows, I made it sure that I could see just even one episode of their shows. The girl appears on this month's (October 2008) issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine still looking great with her dress.

The contestants of the reality adventure tv show Pinoy Fear Factor have been introduced to the audience via TV Patrol. First on the roll is no other than the entertainment correspondent of TV Patrol itself Phoemela Barranda. The show will be aired on Primetime Bida in ABS-CBN this November and hosted by Ryan Agoncillo. The whole show was done entirely in Argentina in South America, (new environment ha) and promised to give big prizes to the one who will win.
